What free antivirus protection is available. Have tried Kaspersky and am told AVG is good.?

Need to download now or I will have to reinstall my Norton which will run for 12 months. Comments please.

Yeah AVG is goof for a free antivirus, Kaspersky is supposed to be the best just now but they have a free online scanner you can use.

you can get avg from http://free.grisoft.com

As well as this there is also avast from http://www.avast.com, but I find it slows my pc down too much, and another called antivir but I havent used it in years.
