Recently downloaded free AVG antivirus. Am getting tons of spam. How can I reduce them, if at all?

I tried that program and after a week or so got rid of it. Then tried another free porgram. That was worse. So, I paid the $30 for Norton Antivirus and things run SO much smoother.
i tink tat therez one tat gives you a free trial for lik 1 week or so..but afterwards you'll hav 2 lik pay no matter what...if you agreed or not you hav 2 pay money 2 the company...so im not sure right now...
