I just downloaded the free AVG trial from the internet,how long does it last for?is this a good prgram?

I use AVAST ANIVIRUS 4.7 free Home Edition %26 has removed well over a hundred Trojans or infected files. Now my Windows 2000 Pro is running great.

AVG Free, as far as i know, it lasts quite a long time but really gets on your nerves with all the updates and scans, really slows down your computer plus the free version doesn't get you the "basics" (email scanning, spyware ect...) I got fed up on it a few weeks ago because it really got on my nerves on how much it was slowing my pc down, i would suggest either buy the full version or switch.

p.s: I am currently using AVAST! free version and so far am very pleased with it.

for free yes its good forever, make sure you have a firewall also, other than windows one and a free spyware program like avg antispyware free.
Mostly noobs and the naive and the computer illiterate use AVG Free. These types love AVG because they say it is easy to use and almost never bothers them with any pop-ups or warnings. Of course AVG Free never bothers them, it hardly ever finds any virus to warn them about!
