i have just downloaded this free antivirus softwear its called " ANTIVIRUS 2008" i think its a usa job....and it done a free scan for and now it wont let me delete it...bloody thing..all it says when i delete it .... upgrad to full softear..is there anyway i can delete this program....and how.....thanks

You can delete it in control panel/ add and remove.

or you can do a search and find its files and folders and then delete them.

or you can delete its file in DOS.
You can delete the software from add/remove program. These software are genuine but their marketing is weired. They allow the user to run a free scan but to remove the virus, buy the licence version.
it sounds abit dodgy to me, try using ccleaner

it will delete it from your computer an regfiles all together, then scan your computer with spybot
i'm glad you hadn't paid for this program. although some genuine antispyware use these tactics and provides partially functional trial and offer paid full version, antivirus2008 is not one of them. antivirus 2008 is a scam designed to milk money. you can delete this parasite with legitimate anti-spyware or you can remove it manually using this tutorial: http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-antiviru...
XP Antivirus is a rogue anti-spyware program that purposesly displays false positives and misleading scan results as a tactic to scare you into purchasing their software. It goes without saying that you should not purchase it. If you did mistakenly purchase it, then call your credit card company and cancel the charge stating it is a scam/fraudulent.
